The Warmer Homes Scheme does not offer one standard heating package for every home. An assessment considers the property’s construction, existing heating system, insulation and household circumstances before suitable measures are recommended, which may include heating controls, a more efficient heating system or other energy upgrades. Insulation and controls can reduce heat demand with less disruption, while a heat pump may offer lower-carbon heating but requires a suitable, well-insulated home and an appropriate installation. SEAI or the appointed contractor makes the final decision on eligible measures and suitability.
