External wall insulation, often called external insulation or an insulation wrap, adds an insulating layer to the outside of your home before a protective render or finish is applied. An SEAI grant may help with the cost as part of an individual home energy upgrade, a One Stop Shop project or, in some cases, the Warmer Homes Scheme. The available support and eligibility can depend on your home’s age, existing insulation, works included and household circumstances, so approval is not automatic. Check the current SEAI requirements and speak with an SEAI-registered contractor before starting work.
