A BER assessor will usually need access to the property and details such as its size, construction, insulation, windows, heating system and any renewable technologies. Building plans, information about insulation or upgrades, heating-system specifications, receipts and a previous BER advisory report can be useful, but you may not have every document. The assessor can explain what evidence is needed and will submit the completed assessment to the SEAI National BER Register. Once published, a BER certificate and advisory report may be available through the official SEAI BER database, subject to the property details and record being found.
